Old-Time Books to Read
I’m not a reader! My attention span, since I was little boy, has never permitted me enough interest in anything written in black and white to ever finish it. To date (and I’m 43) I think that I’ve read a grand total of 3 books cover-to-cover. Now I like reading to my son and I enjoy reading short stories and articles. I’ll read every article in a magazine that enters my home. Maybe I’m too cheap? I’ve never seen the value in purchasing a book, but totally understand why other people would buy books in volumes. I DO think their cool. Cheap-O Bill. LoL! You’ll never see me ever buying porn magazines, I consider that a grand waste of money and I won’t hesitate to buy books for people but not myself.
Anyway, I’ve stumbled across some books that have really interested me and I think it would be fun to read these, so I’m going to give them a try (which is the reason why I’m writing this entry anyway.) OK, what are they? Well in the many antique stores, which abound here in the Texoma area, I’ve been looking thru the volume so text that they have there. There’s always quite a few books on the shelves in these places, priced anywhere from $15 to $1.50 and they date back to the 1800’s (lots of westerns and love stories.) Some of then are a little crisp, pages break, but they’re still readable. So I think I’ll go pick a few out and try to bury my head into them. From what I’ve seen when I’ve glanced at in the stores, I’m sure to find it interesting to read the authors descriptions of things back then. So I just may learn something too.
